Words of Comfort for the family
Donald Jerome Doyle age 71, of Marion, IA died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at his home in Marion after an extended battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday, October 8, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Center – Holy Family Parish in New Hampton, IA with Monsignor Carl Schmitt celebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton. There will be a time to visit with the family at the church gathering center one hour prior to mass. Donald was born on October 9, 1935 to Jerome and Marie (Mishak) in Mason City IA. He moved with his family to Mankato, MN where he graduated from Mankato High School and attended college. Don worked with his dad at the family’s filling station. He was united in marriage to Cecilia Barth on April 12, 1958 in Dubuque, IA. Don entered the US Army in 1959 and received his honorable discharge in 1961. The couple moved to Dubuque where they raised their family and Don was employed in sales. Later they moved to Marion where Don was employed by Rockwell – Collins in Cedar Rapids as a member of the civil service, retiring in 1994. Don always felt his family was his life’s work and his greatest joy. He loved nature and enjoyed sharing outdoor activities with his family. Don is survived by his wife Cecilia of Marion, 4 sons Mike and his wife Pam of Ennis, TX, Scott of Marion, IA, Brian and his wife Bonnie of Missoula, MT, Chris and his wife Kathy of Cedar Falls, IA and one daughter Donna Burgart and her husband John of New Hampton, IA. He is also survived by one brother Robert and his wife Ellie of Port Washington, WI, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Patrick and brother Wallace.
