Words of Comfort for the family

 

Delores F. Stiefel, age 62, of Charles City and formerly of New Hampton, died on Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City. 

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Father Carl Ries celebrating the mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at New Hampton with Jeff Dimarco, John Dimarco, Joe Dimarco, Lyle Staudt, Leslie Staudt and Brent Fencl serving as casket bearers.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Monday, December 3, 2007 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 502 Clark St. in Charles City with a rosary at 4:30 pm and a wake service at 7:00 pm.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Delores “Dee” F. Stiefel was born on July 22, 1945 to Albert and Mabel (Brummond) Stiefel in New Hampton.  She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1963.  Dee worked at the Chickasaw County ASCS office until 1968.  She was united in marriage to William Ruzicka on November 30, 1968 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Hampton.  The couple made their home near Roseville, Iowa where they farmed and to this union four children were born.  In 1980, Dee moved to Charles City where she has lived ever since.  She was united in marriage to Jim Fencl on June 17, 1989 and to this union one daughter was born.  Dee was a hostess for McDonalds in Charles City where she enjoyed giving birthday parties for the children.

She enjoyed bingo, playing card games, scrabble, croquet, music, dancing especially the polka, spending time with her many friends and her pets Trudy and Tipper.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City.

Dee is survived by three sons David Ruzicka of Charles City, William Ruzicka and wife Heather of Jefferson, IA and Steven Ruzicka and wife Nancy of Guttenberg, IA; two daughters Ann Moon and husband Bobby of Charles City and Jamie Stiefel of Waterloo, IA; one sister Marilyn Dimarco and husband John of Kansas City, MO; special friend Jim Fencl of Charles City; and seven grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mabel Stiefel and sister Jan Swanson.
