Words of Comfort for the family
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elma with Father Raymond Atwood celebrating mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery at St. Cecilia, Iowa with Matt Kobliska, Patrick Kobliska, Eric Kobliska, Ryan Kobliska, John Kobliska and Christopher Piemonte serving as casket bearers.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in Elma with a rosary at 6:00 pm and Scriptural Wake Service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mildred Mary Kobliska was born January 4, 1924 to Joseph and Mary (Chihak) Ludwig in Lourdes. She attended school at Lourdes Catholic School and graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Elma. She received her teaching certificate from Cedar Falls Teachers College. Mildred taught at country schools in the Lourdes area. She was united in marriage to Leo Joseph Kobliska on October 29, 1947 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Following their marriage they farmed west of Elma. In 1998 she moved to Elma where she has lived until the time of her death.
Mildred enjoyed music especially playing the organ, bus tours with her friends, playing cards, painting landscapes, flowers, birds, volunteering at the nursing home and especially spending time with her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Chat and??? Ladies group, Rosary society and card club.
Mildred is survived by her seven children Dan Kobliska and wife Joan of New Hampton, Mary Kay Piemonte and husband Phil of Arlington, VA., Joe Kobliska and wife Nikki of Albuquerque, NM., Jim Kobliska and wife Linda of Alta Vista, Steve Kobliska and wife Sheila of Alta Vista, Mike Kobliska of Moville, IA and Dr. David Kobliska and wife Sarah of Port Charlotte, FL; 21 grandchildren; brothers Joe Ludwig and wife Elsie of Elma, Willy Ludwig and wife Rita of Elma, John Ludwig and wife Connie of Elma; sisters Mary Bauer of Scottsdale, AZ and Josephine Mehlberger and husband Ray of Marion, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Ludwig, her husband Leo, brothers Francis Ludwig and Father Raphael Ludwig and a infant daughter. |
