Words of Comfort for the family

Ruth Jenn, age 95, of New Hampton, died on Friday, November 9, 2007 at New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center in New Hampton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph’s Center in New Hampton with Msgr. Carl Schmitt celebrating mass.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at New Hampton with her grandchildren serving as casket bearers.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 pm with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:30 pm at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ruth Elizabeth (Christoph) Jenn was born on December 2, 1912 to John and Karoline  (Drescher) Christoph in New Hampton.  She attended New Hampton schools and graduated from New Hampton High School.  After her graduation Ruth was a housekeeper for local families.  She was united in marriage to Albert Theodore Jenn on November 21, 1937 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Washington.  The couple farmed near North Washington until 1958 when they moved to New Hampton where Ruth has continued to live.

Ruth enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors.  She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of Holy Family Parish – St. Joseph’s Center.

Ruth is survived by two children Julie Coltrain and husband Charles of Waverly, IA and Don Jenn and wife Judy of Papillion, NE; daughter-in-law Dina Jenn of San Francisco, CA six grandchildren Kristina Mangold and husband JB, Jeffrey Coltrain and wife Nicole, David Coltrain, Virginia Plant and husband Ted, Alyshea Techam and husband Jim and Sarah Packard and husband Sam; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, two sons John Mark and Christopher James, one brother George and four sisters, Alice, Dorothy, Esther and Lydia.
